NAZI SKINHEADS

Nazi-Skinheads are a right wing subculture that developed in the United Kingdom in the first half of the 1980s. Typically racist, National Socialist in their politics, and anti-semitic, they emerged in a time when the UK was experiencing the second wave of Punk. The revival of the skinhead subculture, which had originally died out in 1972, came as a sort of backlash against the commercialization of punk.
Punk was theoretically against the commercial world, but was exploited and promoted through mainstream media. While some people argue that punk did not start out as a political voice, many of the earliest punk bands held very leftist viewpoints (such as the Clash, and the lesser-known but equally revolutionary Crass), and the skinhead revival was taken advantage of by the right wing. The mainstream media started to label the whole skinhead style as Nazi (although in the beginning few were). Nazi skinheads are often called "Boneheads" by traditionalist skinheads and Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice.
